Black Bat

Her eyes said more than words can say

9 Dec 2015

In reality my actual rainy/lazy day routine consists of me sleeping late (emphasise on the late) and watching TV episodes upon episodes, with the occasional break of eating (obviously) but I’m going to incorporate my semi-productive day.

Can you guide me through the darkness?

14 Nov 2015

After 1209 outfit changes (okay a bit less), I finally put on one of my most comfiest but a not-so-flattering outfit, not like I am going to bump into Brooklyn Beckham or Lucky Blue Smith any time soon. As well as my outfit being a disaster, my hair decided to obviously look a disaster as well. So lets try to ignore my hair, face and outfit (pretty impossible, but hey) :))))))))(

Minor Disasters

24 Oct 2015

Hurray for me and Dalal getting kicked out of every exhibition because of shitty lighting and then trying to use flash (which we were then told by five assistants we weren’t allowed to use so that's why the pictures are orange-ish) Despite me being very stressed with many open days, exams, homework, art course work ect, me and Dalal randomly decided to go to the Tate modern gallery. Don’t mind my very trampy outfit :)

The Weeknd

10 Oct 2015

I can proudly say that I have been a fan of Abel’s music for a very very very long time, I even remember when my sister bought The Trilogy album and I literally thought his music was very queer. Then again I was only eleven-ish at the time and I shouldn't of been listening to his music at that age, but I didn't even understand half the words he was saying then (so that's alright I guess?). Most of his music is always on repeat, but this album has been on constant repeat. Without overdoing this post with thousands of words, I'm going to end it here by saying - definitely check out his music.

Heavy pictured posts. The type of post that I will never get sick and tired of writing. Now its a Saturday morning around 11-ish and I should really be revising, but as usual i’m procrastinating and writing this post (obviously!) Anyways onto my very very very basic outfit, which consists of my Brandy Melville top which is plain white. But what intrigues me is the saying on the breast pocket (?!?) 'Dazed and Confused' like seriously can this top get any cuter?!! My distressed boyfriend jeans are from the oh so predictable, Zara, which I purchased in the sale for £5.99! They are super cute and comfy. My sneakers are the Adidas Superstars which I wear everywhere and with everything! These are such a staple in your wardrobe. As usual I go abit overboard with the writing so please enjoy these (iPhone 5s taken) photos, which are semi bad quality so sorryyyy about that (crii criii)

Août favourites

7 Sep 2015

First of all, yes I am going to title my monthly favourites in the little French I know. I wish I could start my favourite posts with a sentence other than 'this month has gone so fast' but being the cliche girl I am, I have nothing else to say, well hasn't the month of August gone fast?! I've offically started year 11 and I am on the verge of 18237 panic attacks, crying, smashing plates and the obvious, binge eating.

My first favourite is the Algenist melting cleanser. It starts of as a thick gel substance, which when applied to skin transforms into a lightweight and luxurious oil, which then gently removes long-wearing makeup all in one step. Then when you apply water to your face, the oil transforms into a milky emulsion (ooo chemistry) which then cleanses your skin and leaves it super soft and nourished. I am in love with the subtle fragrance of vanilla (yummmm). This is slightly expensive at £32 in Space NK (please count how many times I have written 'which then' and tell me in the comments)

For my birthday Edie from thelifeofedie bought me a few stuff from Urban outfitters (fancy, I know!) One of the things she bought me was the EOS smooth stick in 'Sweet Mint'. The smell is amazing, and I may or may not lick my lips 10672323 times because the taste is just heavenly. It's not all about the packaging (pfff it really is), but this actually moisturises my lips especially how its getting cooler in London, I’ll definitely be repurchasing this when it runs out. Thank you to my gal Edie for the presents, check our her blog you will not regret it!!

My last favourites are music related, I’ve been obsessed with these three songs which are in a playlist and always on repeat. The songs are Calvin Harris & Disciples - How Deep Is Your Love, can I just say the video for this song is perfect, you should check that out. Years and Years - Shine which I cannot describe in words, you need to hear this! Lastly is Selena Gomez ft A$AP ROCKY - look good for you, I don't normally listen to Selena Gomez’s singles but this song has touched me and is so good!! Ekkk am I not the best at describing songs??!!!?

Sorry for the short amount of favourites but also for a heavy word post, I’ve decided to change up how I write my posts. I am a very sarcastic person who hates using big, complicating words. So, sorry in advance because my posts a few months ago were just not me, and I felt that I had to put on a show and write in a professional manner and stop my actual personality from showing through- which is definitely not me, I am a very simple and casual girl and hopefully I can show that in my upcoming posts!!

What have been your favourite this month?

1 Sep 2015

For my extremely unlucky date of a birthday, August 20th (GCSE results day), this is how my day went. I picked up my early entry Gcse results, shed a few tears (when I mean I shed a few tears, crying a river was an understatement), then went out to celebrate my birthday. Pretty self explanatory. Me and my family went out to Covent Garden, Steak & Co where we took bad quality pictures and ate what our hearts desired.

I wore a grey loose sleeved top from H&M, which was super comfy and casual, I paired that with my black leather trousers (sometimes called pleather trousers?) which made me feel fancy and cute. Most of you know that my outfits are super comfy, effortless but saucay. So you can always dress up this outfit to your own desire. Onto the really bad photos (cri cri)

Au natural

24 Aug 2015

I go back to school in rougly two weeks which I am freaking about since I will offically be in year eleven (ekkkk) My school has a 'no makeup' policy, but if its subtle, natural and 'un-noticable' then they don't mind.  So instead of showing you a look that I can’t relate to, I thought to myself why not just show my everyday makeup for school. Which you can also tone up or down to your own liking.

I first use my Mac Concealer to cover my dark circles, as I don’t wear foundation, using a concealer to cover up any blemishes gives you more of the au natural look. I then set my concealer with the Prep and Prime translucent powder from Mac to ensure my concealer stays on the whole school day without creasing. I had the The Roller Lash by Benefit mascara applied on me when it first came out with a few too many coats which lead it to be super clumpy and heavy on my lashes. Which was why I was quite skeptical purchasing this, however with one or so coats, it provides length and volume without the clump.I then use my Clinque Chubby Stick in Super Strawberry, which is a similar shade to my natural lip colour however has a light berry tint, to finish this au natural perfect school makeup look.

Whats is your ‘go to’ school makeup look?

The famous flannel

16 Aug 2015

Heyyyyy I’m back! I hope you guys haven’t forgotten about me! Firstly I would like to say I am excited to be back to dress and shop more, however I am missing the sun (waahh) anyways, moving on.. I was writing up my 'fifty facts about me' until I realised a blank titled post. I opened it and noticed my mini photoshoot with Dalal! This shoot consisted of my basic white tee which is a semi muscle tee that hangs on your shoulders without the extreme cuts on the side - this is from Zara. For the last 3/4 years flannels have become extremely popular and therefore I was quite skeptical, but a flannel is an essential piece that I think humans of all sexes should have! Seeing as flannels are popular I wanted to buy one that not many people have. This flannel is from Zara and has the unique colour block of cream which I think frames this tom-boy, casual outfit quite well. Finally my distressed jeans are from Zara too (Zara galore!), I cant stress enough how easy distressed jeans are to match up with a few include tops, tees, blouses, jumpers, the list goes on! I paired this outfit with my white Adidas originals.
What does your casual outfit consist of?
(Have you noticed I say this piece of clothing is essential in nearly all my fashion posts)

LUSH Mask of Magmaminty

22 Jul 2015

After many many weeks I’ve finally had the time and effort to write this super long awaited review. I mentioned on one of my previous haul posts (linked here) that I bought the self preserving Mask of magmaminty from Lush a few weeks ago as it was (and still is) raved by many youtubers and bloggers due to its skin benefits, and now that I've tried it I understand why! It works as a cleanser, exfoliator but also a deep cleansing face and body mask to remove any spots/prevent future ones to leave your skin feeling softer and brighter. The mask contains Kaolin clay and peppermint oil which ‘pulls’ dirt from pores and raise them on the surface of your skin making it easier to minimise and remoce them after a few days of applying the mask. Aduki beans are an ingredient that exfoliates dry or flakey skin to reveal soft and glowy skin and finally the vanilla and honey hydrate and reduce redness. All these ingredients are claimed to be cruelty free and natural which is one of it's pros

I use this mask when I am having breakouts but I also use it twice to once a week, to help maintain clear skin. As it is self-preserving I don’t need to worry that the mask will dry out and lose its freshness and it doesn't need to be stored in the fridge! Also as this mask contains honey, it hydrates my skin leaving a cool sensation afterwards so there's no need to moisturise after using this mask. The mask it self is thick yet workable on the skin and smells heavenly and fresh. The small tub retails at £5.50, which is totally worth for the amount you get which lasts months without over-drying.

Skin Care Routine | Summer

15 Jul 2015

I recently found myself in Tesco casually searching for water balloons (as you do) and whilst doing so, the beauty isle caught my eye (no surprise) I decided to stock up on some clean and clear products seeing as the offers were such great bargains! This was about two weeks ago, and now two weeks later I find that this new updated skin care routine has worked so well on my skin to remove spots but also prevent any future spots and breakouts.

I remove any makeup or dirt that has built on my skin over the day with my BioDerma Sensibio H2O. This remove all my makeup in one step without any harsh rubbing. It also cleanses and refreshes your skin without rinsing, which is great for those lazy nights. A drugstore dupe is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.
I then use my Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Stress Control Daily Wash, to cleanse my face more and get rid of any grime/makeup that may have built up over the day. This scrub is gentle enough for daily use as the micro-beads are soft, yet exfoliate well enough to slough of those dry, dull skin cells to reveal fresh and more brighter skin. It is enriched with green tea and cucumber which are both refreshing and cooling ingredients, making you feel more awake. I use this every morning and night.
Although the scrub doesn't dry my skin, everyone knows the importance of moisturising. I use my Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturiser which is formulated to prevent spots and blemishes. It leaves my skin smooth, soft and hydrated and it doesn't clog up your pores (which is always a plus!)

Finally, when I have some major spots, likewise on my nose right now, I use my Origins Super Spot Remover which is a great blemish treatment gel that works overnight to remove redness and spots. It contains caffeine and red algae to help relieve and reduce redness, as well as salicylic acid which is the master ingredient as this fades and removes spots.

Summer Outfit Inspiration

5 Jul 2015

I've been wanting to do a fashion post especially as I'm more fashion orientated than beauty,  although I do love them both. As the weather has started to warm up (at last) Dalal and I used it to our advantage and took some outfit photos that are appropriate to summer. We orginally took photos for three outfits but the lighting went funny so we decided to stick with two outfits, but no worries, we've saved the outfit for a future post.
The first outfit is a more scruffy yet put together outfit, the tank top from Zara and has a feminine open back which is ideal for summer, as it can keep you cool. However the distressed boyfriend jeans, also from Zara, help to loosen the vibes of the outfit and give it a more boyish look. My boots, Zara..again, are a little out of my comfort zone however I really like them as they add a more sophisticated look and pull the whole outfit together so it isn't too sloppy. I'm not really into jewelry and tend to wear the more simple items but this rose gold watch from Marc Jacobs isn't too big and in your face.
The second outfit is a little less tombyish and more easy to style, it's your simple tank top, jeans and trainers look, which is very effortless yet appropriate for this weather. I'm wearing a light pink cami top from Zara, which is quite a basic piece, along with my Topshop Leigh jeans which have a few rips on the knees. I really like this wash of denim as it's light and summery but isn't too acid washed. You can't go wrong with a pair of trainers as they're comfy and practical, mine are a pair of air max 100s which I've had for the longest time. As I said before, I'm more into dainty jewellery so I layered these two necklaces together, they're both from Urban Outfitters.

Here are some additional photos!
Dalal and I also met Essie Buttons dog, Reggie! He was with Lucy from Bonjour Luce and she was really nice and we managed to exchange blogs too; he was so photogenic, cute and playful. I hope you enjoyed my first fashion post, all photos were taken by Dalal, except the ones of Reggie (I took them)
Which one is your favourite outfit?
